The Liebster Award: A Way to Discover New Blogs

liebster-blog-award-21

He received an e-mail from Adrift in the Distance saying that she nominated him for the Liebster Award. Thank you for the recognition! Your photos and articles are amazing as well.

And so, before writing this post, I searched about this award. Basically, the goal of this award is to bring attention to new blogs that have not been discovered yet. Although this is not a “real” award and more like a “chain”, at least you know that your blog is recognized and read by others.

The rules are as follows:

  1. Thank the blogger who gives it.

  2. Answer the 11 questions she/he asks.

  3. Nominate 11 bloggers with less than 500 followers.

  4. Ask these 11 bloggers 11 questions.

  5. Let them know you have nominated them.

Here are his answers to her questions:

1. How would you describe your hometown to someone who has never been before?

A place where life is really simple. A place where some of the ingredients for a meal are almost free and just right there in your own or your neighbor’s backyard. A place where you almost know everyone, at least by his/her face. A place where you can literally sleep comfortably under a tree. A place where fried chicken is considered a luxury, to most family. A place where you can still see children playing on the streets or rice fields. A place that will teach you to be contented and be humble.

2. What is an odd/interesting/weird talent that you have? (ex. double jointed, three nipples, plays trombone, etc.)

Weird thing about me is I do not let myself vomit even if I have a very bad hangover. I call it PRIDE. Also, I can bend my thumbs backward by a little more than 90 degrees. Don’t think most people can do that.

3. If you were a food, what food would you be and why?

If I were a food, I would be a Balut (developing duck egg). It’s because I’m one of a kind.

4. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Chicken ass. It tastes weird because…it’s ass!!

5. What would you do with a million dollars?

Franchise a Jollibee fast food restaurant. Buy parcels of land and build a resort. Give back to community. Travel.

6. What is your favorite movie?

James Cameron’s Avatar. I like how Jake and Dr. Grace learned the culture of the avatars in Pandora, became one of them and fought to save Pandora.

7. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three things you would bring?

Water or Juice. Beach Umbrella. Beach Bench. And relax and feel like its a vacation.

8. If you were at a bar, what is your drink of choice?

Rum Cola or Beer. Don’t like complicating things.

9. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Ability to fly. At least I do not have to pay for plane tickets.

10. What is your pet peeve?

I have LOTS of pet peeves. All-knowing person is on top of my list.

11. If you had a TARDIS, when and/or where would you go?

I wanna see Manila when it is not yet crowded, there is not much traffic, and the streets and rivers are still clean.
